After his encounter with the Pardeshi Swami, Sri Naraeyana reached home with a heart bursting with joy, but with empty pockets.

On realising that her husband had yet again given away an entire basket of bangles for free, Muniyamma flew into a rage and asked him to leave the house.

The husband and wife had never seen eye-to-eye and this incident proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. The resentments of the past and their

irreconcilable differences bubbled to the surface and pushed the couple to part ways.

For Sri Naraeyana, who, from childhood, had a keen sense of spirituality, this fight signalled the end of his life as a family man, and the beginning of his journey as an ascetic.
